Weatherford Pipeline
Fountain Quail has announced its intention to construct a freshwater pipeline system from the City of Weatherford (TX) into Parker County. This pipeline would deliver treated municipal sewage from the City wastewater plant to gas producers which require the water for Barnett Shale frac jobs. Absent this pipeline, required fracing water would need to be sourced from drinking or surface water supplies and be trucked to well sites, an expensive undertaking. The proposed pipeline system includes three NOMAD units to recycle water after it is used for fracs. The economic and optic benefits to the public and the City favor using treated sewage over using drinking water for fracs.
Benefits to the Community:
- Remove thousands of trucks from Parker County Roads (less traffic and noise, less road damage, fewer accidents and traffic fatalities, and reduced pollution).
- Conserve water. Recycle and re-use the water continuously preserving surface water for drinking, irrigation, recreation and the natural ecosystem.
- Use treated municipal effluent rather than drinking water as an initial supply.
- Fresh water available for rural firefighting.
